Team Leader (m/f/d) Logistics

Your responsibilities:

  • Lead Advanced Product Development projects from concept to SOP, following our R&D process, to be realized by function lead of the APD engineers in this product family and through internal and/or external partners
  • Technical expert and technology manager for all topics related to coatings, with a focus on PVD (MVSD) sputter coatings, including product, process, equipment and supplier expertise
  • Create development budgets for product family and manage development activities against this budget in own responsibility
  • Have a thorough understanding of the market, including suppliers, technologies, IP, customer expectations, end consumer needs and supply chains and use these insights to guide the APD Engineers
  • Understand manufacturing processes in Webasto and outside, required for series production of new products at highest quality and lowest cost levels
  • Apply business case analysis and planning experience for commercialization of new products for APD projects
  • Actively participate in our Front-End Innovation process by contributing new concept and product ideas in exchange with the Product/Innovation Managers
  • Overlook and coordinate the manufacturing and analysis of prototypes, samples and concepts
  • Provide design, prototype & validation direction for improving existing products
  • Play the key role in defining specifications, standards and inspections methods for new products and feature

Your qualification:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, physics, optics, material science or related field or equivalent experience required
  • 8+ years experience in relevant role with career progression
  • Automotive supplier experience or would be a plus as well as the knowledge in materials such as glass, coatings, plastics
  • Product design experience including GD&T and DFMEA
  • Working knowledge of automotive customer testing and performance specifications
  • Experience with strategic planning, positioning and messaging, forecasting, budgeting and analysis of business situations, competitive profiles and pricing analysis.
  • Advanced/Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
  • Readiness to travel up to 25% within North America, Europe and Japan with valid driver’s license
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to produce strong business results
  • Very good German, French and English language skills
